A Site for Descendants and Relatives of Daniel Perrin the Huguenot 1642 - 1719.
NEW! This is our latest version of Daniel Perrin's coat of arms. The white part on the shield was silver on the original shield. The Maltese crosses were gold, and the ducal crown, in the crest, was gold and the peacock head is proper or the real bluish-green color.
Dear Family and Friends, This web site is in a major site of reconstruction to become the best site on the WWW for finding links to lots of information about the Perrine Family. We recommend book- marking the site as we will be adding information weekly so come on back and visit.
For purposes of convenience, we use the term Perrine to represent all of the spelling variation since it is the most commonly used form in America. Our line went from Perrin, to Perine, and finally to Perrine.
In the book Daniel Perrin the Huguenot... they list the following variety of spellings for family members: PERRIN, PARAIN, PARINE, PARIAN, PARAYN, PAREIN, PAREYN, PEARINE, PERINE, PERINIE, PERING, PEROYNE, PERRINGS, PERRANE, PERREIN, PERREINE, PERRIN, PERRINE, PRIEN, PRIEN, PRINE, PRUYN, PRUYNE, and a surname history lists a few more, PERIN, PERRION, DE PERRIN and de PERRIN.

THE PERINE HOUSE: The Perine House is the second oldest building in New York City and one of the few 17th century houses still standing in America. The house was built by Billiou, passed to Stilwell and through marriage remained in the Perine family for many generations. The early American house is preserved by the City of New York as part of historic Richmond Town, on Staten Island, NY. The Perine House, Staten Island, NY |

PERRIN COAT OF ARMS: This is a page which lists some information about the early Perrine history that we have not otherwise encountered. Most interestingly, it claims that the Perrin coat of arms is somewhat different from the one passed on in the Daniel Perrin the Huguenot book. We offer copies of all Perrin family Coats of Arms (at least twenty-four) in the EBay Store listed below. Some Perrin Coats of Arms

PERRINE IN AMERICA: If one picture is worth a thousand words, this site with US Census Bureau maps says a real mouthful. Log onto this site, type in your Perrine family name, select the year or All Years and hit Display. Watch the Perrine family population move through the years. I was shocked to see which state had the highest percentage of Perrines in America in the 1990 census. The Perrine Name in the US Census |

PERRIN IN FRANCE: My maternal Perrine grandmother passed along the oral family history that our French ancestors came from the Alsace-Lorraine regions of north-eastern France. The name Perrin is one of the most common of surnames in France. During the last census it ranked as the 37th most common name. So while our Protestant Huguenot Perrin ancestors came to America, many Catholic Perrin family members remained safely in France. This map shows where the Perrin families are concentrated. The words are in French but the map tells the whole story. The Perrin Name in France

PIERRE PERRIN, ISLE OF JERSEY, CHANNEL ISLANDS: We know that Pierre Perrin of the Isle of Jersey, Channel Islands, was the father of Daniel Perrin, the Huguenot. This is all I could find regarding the Pierre Perrin, Isle of Jersey coat of arms. There used to be a web site with more information on Pierre Perrin but I have not been able to locate that site for about a year now. I have no way of knowing if this is THE Pierre Perrin, that was the father of Daniel Perrin, but it seems quite likely since there would probably have been only one Pierre Perrin at that location. I believe that our Pierre Perrin was born near La Rochelle and later moved to the Isle of Jersey for their protection. A Pierre Perrin, Isle of Jersey |
